Facebook Group Disscussion

Hi folks, Please help me choose from the two I have received admits from SUNY buffalo and University of Houston Main Campus I will be pursuing MBA in Supply chain. Please provide your opinion. Thanks

Thank you for posting your query and congratulations for your successful admissions!!

When you compare the two universities you find that both SUNY Buffalo and University of Houston are public universities and their out-of-state tuition and fees is almost similar. However, the cost of living in Buffalo, NY is indeed higher compared to the cost of living at Houston, TX. When it comes to rankings, SUNY Buffalo has overall higher rank at #99 among national universities compared to #194 for University of Houston (based on the data published by U.S. News).

Since you going for a graduate program, besides cost, your key criteria for choice of the program should be college ranking, course plan, faculty profile, and placement prospects. The School of Business for both universities are ranked among top 100, so there is not much difference there. You should go through the coursework and faculty profiles of the two programs to understand if the program matches your expectations. With regards to the placements, you can request for placement history of the alumni from the department and discuss with the program coordinator the kind of resources available within the department and in university for placements (career development center, on-campus recruitment or assistance, networking opportunities, etc.). You should try to understand the placement aspects in context of international students.

Hope this information is helpful for you in your decision making!!
